Jeremiah 33:3 is a fascinating verse – “Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” I’ve written about this before, but it has been awhile and I think we could all use the encouragement!
I remember first beginning to get the depth of this verse and being amazed. “Great and unsearchable things which I did not know.” How do you even wrap your mind around something you don’t know? Granted I don’t pretend to think I know all things, I mean you don’t know what you don’t know, right?
So I decided to put this verse into action. I would pray, Lord, would You show me something great and unsearchable that I don’t know? And will You let me know it is from You? I can’t wait to see it, Lord!
It is interesting, but I don’t think this prayer has ever been answered quickly, but rather I’ll just be going on with my life and something will gradually occur to me. And somehow, in those moments, I know it is the answer to this prayer, because what I am realizing is something beyond what I’ve thought to ask for, hope for, or expect! It is quite simply and obviously, this verse in action!
These answered prayers thrill me no end. It encourages my heart and helps me feel closer to God. I just marvel at His power, provision, and love for me.
Specific Prayers
Do you have a disciplined, intentional prayer life? I am working on developing mine. Though I find myself praying about a million things 24/7, I know I need to become more intentional. I’ve shared how specific prayers get specific answers and vague prayers get vague answers. I want to be more intentional with my time with God so as to be a blessing to others and effective as a Christian.
One specific thing that I pray about and would encourage you to pray about is for God to guide you and give you wisdom as to what He wants you to pray for. Ask Him how you can best pray for others, and thank Him for always guiding your steps. Praise Him for answered prayers, for guidance, for encouragement, for every single way that you see Him show up in your life. Lean into your relationship with Him, focused and surrendered.
And don’t wait until you are alone and undistracted to pray to Him. Be in conversation at all times and places with Him. He hears, He sees, and He goes before you. Praying about a million things 24/7 isn’t wrong, and I would even argue it is good to have a prayer so eagerly on your heart. But also find the time and create the intentionality that takes your prayer life to the next level.
Unsearchable Things
I believe God loves it when we are in conversation with Him. He loves our attention, our praise, our gratitude. He knows our needs, but He wants us to go ahead and bring them before Him. And then if all that isn’t enough, He wants to add the proverbial cherry on top – He wants to show us great and unsearchable things which we do not know! What a loving, generous Father!
I love how Jeremiah 33:3 says, “call to me and I will answer…’ God answers when we call. I’ve literally prayed and asked and reminded both God and myself in prayer that I know He will answer because He says He will! There are no exceptions or exclusions. The One Who has promised is able, to quote Hebrews 10:23!
Seeing God in action grows our faith. It strengthens us and gives us a stronger confidence in His plans. It also encourages us to grow in our belief, to know that as we step more in alignment with the calling He has for us, we will see Him show up in new and wonderful ways. Great and unsearchable things from God are on the other side of our limiting beliefs.
Abandoning Limiting Beliefs
Limiting beliefs hold us back. They stifle our hope, our joy, our enthusiasm – even life itself. Today is the day and now is the time to abandon any and all limiting beliefs. God is not a God of scarcity, but of abundance! He is not a God of lack and disappointment, but of joy and more-than-enough!
Set a guard on your words, your thoughts and your actions. Are they in alignment with the power of the God we serve? As you interact with people, are they speaking blessings over your life? Limiting beliefs will cripple us. But focusing on God will take us beyond our wildest dreams!
Take courage and guard your mindset. When doubts try to sneak in, refute them and remind yourself of Who God is in your life. If someone has something less than a blessing to say, kindly encourage them to think more highly of the God we serve. We don’t have to call them out and make a big deal of it, but perhaps it is an opening for us to share God’s love and provision with them.
God is no respecter of persons, what He has done for one person He is able to do for another. Have faith that He will show up for you in great and unsearchable ways, if you will set aside your limiting beliefs. Limiting beliefs are from the enemy, and we don’t ever want to be in agreement with the enemy.
May God bless you as you grow closer to Him! May He show you great and unsearchable things which you do not know!
Until Next Time!
Hope.
