Colbert Clothing – Womens Clothing Boutique

In the past, I have mentioned from time to time that I own and run a womens clothing boutique and today I want to share it with you!

Most clothing shops have a theme – some are western, some modern, others classic styles. Colbert Clothing falls in the classic style category.

 

 

How did you choose the name Colbert Clothing?

This is a question I get asked constantly – and I do enjoy sharing where the idea came from!

Shop names have long fascinated me! Some seem perfectly chosen while others come across as blasé and uninspired. I began noticing that some of my favorites were names that had two words and each of the words began with the same letter. Another clever title pattern I noticed is where the two words rhyme (for instance, Hobby Lobby).

Colbert began as inspiration from another lovely ladies’ boutique that I had opportunity to visit while visiting family out of state. This boutique had billboards announcing it, and for some reason I attached that same vision to my dream shop. Yes, I wanted billboards some day. I also wanted the title of the shop to immediately convey that it was an upscale clothing shop.

The name Colbert was also carefully chosen. My family and I had been down visiting some of the springs in Florida when we came across a gorgeous, old abandoned hotel. Telford was the name of it. Telford. I loved the sound of it! And, no doubt, I liked it 10x more due to the fact that it was connected to a historic building – you know my weaknesses for historic buildings! I decided that my boutique must have a wonderfully strong name such as Telford.

My father kindly helped me systematically come up with a name when I presented all these stipulations!

And thus, Colbert Clothing was the name chosen!

 

Classic Styles Meet Modern Chic

How did you decide on the style clothing to offer?

Oh, this was easy! Classic styles are my favorite – and not readily available just anywhere!

I realized that so much of the fashion that ladies wear in my area is very modern – and it will be dated in no time. But classic garments are timeless – less cringe-worthy in later days! I want to present women with staples that they can pair with their of-the-moment pieces to render a classier look. I also offer modern trendy pieces that have a classic look.

Comfort is another important aspect I look to offer with Colbert Clothing! I want the classic look to be attainable by the everyday woman! I want her to feel confident and put together – and much of the confidence comes in feeling comfortable in your clothing!
