Perhaps you are praying and hoping for something – a friend, a job, a husband, etc. I’m here to tell you, when you seek to get in alignment with God’s will for your life, your yes is coming!
I read a wonderful quote the other day that went something like: “If you knew you were only one hundred no’s from your yes, you would actually get more excited with each no.”
That idea completely inspired me! I can see applying it to so many areas of life, and I really think you could use the encouragement too! Instead of being bummed or having a heavy heart when we encounter a “no” in life, let’s be inspired to use it as fuel to sprint towards our “yes”!
Get In Agreement
Our job and responsibility is to get in agreement with God. We need to read our Bibles constantly to better understand the role that Christian women should play. The constant reinforcement of God’s Word helps us better know how to listen for God’s quiet whisper in our hearts. As women, we should seek to thrive under our God-given authority, not seek to be our own authority. We need to be soft and submissive, but not a mindless push-over. Eager to serve to show our love, not victims of the role we are created for.
Consider the opportunities that God has placed before you, the inclinations and the dreams. As I heard shared the other day, God wouldn’t give you a heart for marriage if He called you to be a nun. And I think that is so true! But it is essential to get in agreement with Him. To understand what He is calling you towards and what He is not calling you towards. I believe that He shows us a glimpse of what He has ahead based on the desires we have in our heart. Test these desires against God’s Word. Are they pure and lovely, a good representation of Christ?
Once tested and certain that they are biblical, get in agreement with them. Prepare yourself to step into the dreams God has placed in your heart. If you have a heart for marriage, believe that God is capable of bringing someone wonderful into your life. Do you dream of owning a business, practice faithfulness in your life now. The how and the when aren’t up to us, God has those details. It is our privilege to get in agreement with the hopes and dreams He has given us!
Your Yes Is Coming
I had the opportunity to attend a wedding recently and it was beautiful! The bride is a dear friend and together we had prayed for different details of her wedding day. Sitting at the reception, looking around at the answered prayers overwhelmed me with awe for how God brought everything together. We’re not just talking petty details, but how He worked in different people’s lives, restored relationships, healed sickness, and brought everything together for that day was just incredible to consider!
Day by day leading up to the wedding, different circumstances could seem overwhelming and it would seem out of reach to even hope for things to come together. But sitting there I had an incredible perspective to behold how God more than delivered on those prayers. And it reminded me to keep praying for all the other things close to my heart. To consider these hopes and dreams a privilege to pray for and expect, knowing my yes is coming.
If I could flip a switch and magically change anything, it would be to be able to believe more deeply and sincerely that God will deliver. It would be to believe more firmly and confidently that He has the most perfect timing and that He will bring things about in ways even more wonderful than I can imagine! A new element of my prayers is for Him to help me enjoy a deeper relationship with Him. For me to overcome the fears that keep me small and to be full of a bold confidence in Him!
He’s Got The Details
This doesn’t come down to trying to help orchestrate the how or when. God has got the details. It is up to us to put one foot in front of the other, always willing to try something new, and never give up hope!
Every single day brings us one day closer to answered prayers and dreams realized. And if you knew that todays rejection was paving the way for next week’s opportunity, wouldn’t it make it easier to swallow? God has got the details and your yes is coming! Live expectantly and eagerly, full of energy and hope! The enemy wants watered down victims of life. But God has created us to be more than conquerors!
Exercise your belief, investigate your thoughts and your mind and get in agreement with what God has for you! What if today was the day that you realized that your dreams could become your reality? As you pray, praise God for those dreams and ask Him to get you where you need to be to serve Him best. With that kind of attitude, I believe you can live in confident expectation of the hopes and dreams in your heart. He can move your heart wherever He needs it, you need only seek Him!
