Keep the Faith

Keep the Faith

Keep the faith – a simple statement with a deep and important meaning.

Faith is what keeps us showing up even when things are tough. It is what keeps us pressing on even when our confidence is waning. Faith is essential in the little things, in the everyday moments, in the details, for over time they will add up and become the remarkable things!

The Little Things

The little things – the tiny, perhaps mundane, even ordinary things – that we do day in and day out. Those are essential and all too often underestimated. But faith is built in the showing up, going through the motions, giving our best, etc.

Be it your work, tasks at home, or efforts in a relationship, keep showing up. Go through the motions and value what you have been given to do. Each of us has to practice being faithful here. Everyone has menial tasks that may feel bland compared to our perception of another’s life. But I can pretty safely guarantee what we perceive of another’s life is most likely one of two things:

1) all we see is the highlight reel so to speak – the fun, the glamorous, the enviable – not the in between necessary but unexciting moments.

2) on the other hand, perhaps what we see is their attitude towards life and they embrace their little things well. This is definitely worth keeping in mind and we can use it to inspire us to step more gracefully into our calling!

Everyday Moments

Life is made up of everyday moments. Though it may not feel glamorous or especially remarkable a lot of the time, look back through photos and relive those moments! This really helps me more thoroughly enjoy my days!

Make the most of what you have now, even if you are working towards something else. These are the good old days and we’ll never have them again!

In the Details

Small, miniscule, and perhaps simple, appreciating details can certainly help us step more fully into what God has for us to do. I love to notice little details, I’ve heard them called God winks, that speak to my heart and confirm to me that God is in control and is leading me.

The simplest detail can renew my faith, can spark encouragement where I felt flat and was beginning to question. A random Bible verse can be like salve on my uncertain heart, restoring my faith like nothing else. I can’t help but wonder if it was the little details that Mary the mother of Jesus was said to have stored up in her heart!

Keep the Faith

All this to say that faith isn’t only showcased in large and stunning things, but built up, little by little. Scripture says if you are faithful in little things, then you will be entrusted with more. Never despise small beginnings.

Delight yourself in the Lord – and in the little everyday things He has for you to do – and He will guide your steps and then give you the desires of your heart!

Until Next Time!

Hope.
