What if You Fly?

What if You Fly

“But what if I fall?”

“My Darling, but what if you fly?!”

I came across this quote ages ago and although I don’t remember where it is from, I like the reminder to be bold and expect great things!

Falling is Part of Life

Let’s be honest, we’re all going to fall and we’re going to fall a lot. But the important thing is to get back up and renew our enthusiasm and go at it again!

Falling (or we could even say failing) in life is normal. The successful person is simply the one who keeps trying something new, again and again. I’ve heard it said that far too many people stop just one failure shy of success. If they had kept pressing on, made a renewed effort, tweaked just one minor thing, they would have been a success. But they didn’t. Instead they threw their hands up and accepted defeat.

Success can be difficult. It takes a lot of determination, enthusiasm, effort, energy, and more to press on in the face of failure upon failure. But just because it is hard does not mean it is bad. Read that again. Just because things in life are difficult and challenging doesn’t mean they are bad!

Choose Your Hard

I once read a list of choices in life and it was such a good reminder! It went something along these lines:

Marriage is hard; divorce is hard. Choose your hard.

Being overweight is hard; being healthy is hard. Choose your hard.

Training children is hard; having unruly children is hard. Choose your hard.

Growing your income is hard; living on a small income is hard. Choose your hard.

And the list went on and on. You can add whatever you may be working on in life. Building a relationship is hard, but a poor relationship is hard too. Make your choices and then grow, flourish and blossom in them! Change your mentality from I have to do this and it is hard to I get to choose this!

Your perspective directly effects your attitude towards life. Don’t misinterpret the hard things in life as bad things.

Take a Chance

When opportunity presents itself, what if you took a chance? (I’m not saying on anything crazy or inappropriate, obviously) But what if you boldly stepped up to the things that frightened you just a little? Sometimes the only thing holding us back is ourselves and our limited view. What if, when presented with a hint of a vision, you were to pursue it, to knock on that door so to speak? True you might fall – but what if you fly?!

I’m trying to become more bold in this. And do you know, the more I step up, the further I go?! Not always do my efforts pan out, but rather, the negative responses also give me an answer and better direction. Just yesterday I reached out to someone about something far out of my comfort zone. To be honest, I couldn’t even tell you whether I wanted them to say no or yes. If they said no that would be direction, if they said yes that would be frightening. The answer was no.

But this response was more than just a no to me. This no represented an answer to a whole collection of questions I had been pondering. Am I devastated by this no? Not at all! I’m actually a bit excited by it because on the one hand I had the courage to ask, and on the other those little ponderings in the back of my mind are now put to rest! It is a good thing!

What if You Fly?

Falling is a part of life. It is as real as gravity. But getting back up again and pressing on is a choice you can choose on a daily basis! Let the opportunities around you fuel your enthusiasm as you press on to be your best. Because with faithful endurance, to borrow from the quote above, my Darling you will fly!

May God bless you as you seek to be your best for Him!

Until Next Time!

Hope.
