Here Comes The Sun

Here Comes The Sun

Isn’t it incredible how to a certain extent the weather can affect our mood? After a few rainy, dreary days all we want to see is a blue sky and the bright sunshine!

And isn’t that how the rhythms of life can be too? Things are a bit more of a trial, work a little more of a struggle, moods a little less cheery. We can and should do our best to remain joyful and untouched by these circumstances, but the truth of it is, they can begin to weigh on us. Then, as always happens, the sun breaks through and encourages our heart, and in much the same way, circumstances or maybe just our attitude shifts and things aren’t the trial that they had been.

Isn’t it such a relief and a delight to feel that encouragement and to sense that blessing from God?! How we handle those trials is a reflection of our faith in God. It is our Christian duty to strengthen that faith, to endure the testing well and come through it with a stronger belief that God is in control!

Keep the Faith

An important part of keeping the faith is guarding your mind and your conversations. Be sure you fill your mind and thoughts with good things. Be intentional what you read and what you think about. In addition to the Bible, look for books about positive thinking. How you think has an enormous impact on your attitude and perspective.

As you read your Bible, ask God to help you understand and then pay attention to what specifically stands out to you. No matter how any times you’ve read through it, there is always more to learn. Take notes on what you particularly notice. Highlight it and ponder it. Consider how it applies to your life, your concerns and struggles, right here and now.

I have been amazed this time reading through the gospels how much I’ve noticed that Christ has told people according to their beliefs things will be. We as Christians have such a responsibility to believe God and His Word. To push aside worries and doubts and concerns and reevaluate by asking, what does God’s Word say about this?

This reminder may seem simple, but it has been just what I needed. I sat down and considered my concerns just long enough to offset each of them with what God’s Word says. Then I wrote what I know about God down and I’ve been reading through that list morning and night! I’m done pondering things that are in God’s control. My list gives me the mission in front of me: get up each day, do the work in front of me, and trust God to direct me where He needs me.

Endure the Trial

It is such a relief to get past life’s little trials, isn’t it? I can’t stand when things weigh me down – especially when I know in the grand scheme of things it will all come together. Sometimes I handle these times better than others. Other times, my oh my, I am just as human and emotional as the next girl.

But how do we endure the trial better while remaining steadfast in our confidence of God? One thing that has brought me great comfort and really helped is to remind myself that God is exceptional at motivating me where He needs me. He is good at capturing my attention and inclining my heart towards what He has for me. So instead of being concerned I’ve missed something obvious, I rest easier knowing that He knows how to move me where He needs me!

Just that very simple fact has brought me great peace and comfort. Figure out what those facts are for you and it will help you endure the trials of life. So much of life is figuring out a perspective to give the circumstances you are in. If you live for God and live a life that pleases Him, you can be sure that all things work together for your good!

Here Comes the Sun!

Everything in life seems seasonal, so just as surely as we face struggles and trials, we can be sure that the sun will peak through and bring calm and joy! Seek God and His will and He will direct you every step of the way. Even when things seem silent and you aren’t sure what’s next, remain faithful where He has you. Always remember that when you truly seek Him, you won’t be able to escape His direction.

Keep the faith, consider what you know about God and make sure you truly believe He has a plan for you. Endure the trial and give your best no matter how you feel. Here comes the sun and you will be encouraged and motivated on a new level!

Find a Christian friend to encourage you and remind you of what you know. Seek to be a friend to someone else who needs encouragement! Sometimes when we feel a deficit and a real need for help, it translates that we really need to help someone else in a similar area. Be willing to show up where God needs you today!

Here comes the sun!

Hope.
