Be A Winner

Be A Winner

We as Christians are called to be our best and accomplish great things for God. To be a winner, give our all, be steadfast and hardworking. As is said, faint heart never won fair maiden. In much the same way, faint heart never accomplished great things. We are to be strong, lion-hearted, confident in the path we are to pursue.

This generation seems to be lenient on participators. They cheer them on, incentivizing mediocrity. But I believe as Christians we are called to be winners. To be the best of the best. God has blessed us with skills and favor, with strength and a sound mind. To be anything less than a winner is not living up to our potential.

Don’t Be A Good Loser

I was reading a book from the 1950s or 1960s and the author mentioned that there was a fine line between being a good loser and being good at losing. That thought really struck me! I understand that it is important not to pitch a fit or act like a child when one loses. But one doesn’t want to become good at losing. Rather, to evaluate the loss and prepare better next time.

It is said that one learns from their mistakes (ideally) and that is true. But wouldn’t it be so much better to learn from victories instead? To make the mark and carefully evaluate how to repeat the process so as to achieve the goal next time too? The goal is never to become good at losing, but rather to aim at winning.

Even Paul wrote about this in 1 Corinthians 9:24: “Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win!” I love that reminder! It’s not wrong or inappropriate to be a winner!

Don’t Work Aimlessly

As Paul goes on to encourage the Corinthians to run the race to win, he reminds them not to race aimlessly. As Christians, we each have a mission in life. A duty that God has given us to accomplish. Instead of merely existing, we should be on fire to show up in the best way possible for the mission currently in front of us.

Instead of watering down and devaluing what you bring to the table, change your perspective. As the saying goes, the key to success is playing the hand you were dealt like it is the hand you wanted. That perspective and that kind of enthusiasm for your life will help you be a winner!

Instead of going around glumly or aimlessly, you ignite a fire in the mission in front of you. Run your race well. Run to win.

Bring Your Best

This priceless reminder helps me realize all over again that I want to be a winner in every aspect of my life. For God’s glory, to honor my parents, to represent God well, to bring my best to the table. I don’t want to participate in anything.

So grab hold of those dreams and inclinations God has placed on your heart. Step up boldly where God has placed you. Bring your best to the table and aim high. Is anything too hard for God? If we will look to Him, He will guide us every step of the way. We don’t need to water down our efforts or our dreams to being more humanly possible. We serve a limitless God, so why put limits on ourselves?

Keep your eyes on Him and you will be a winner. Aim as high as you possibly can, give your absolute best and always believe that something wonderful is about to happen. Because when we believe God for God-sized things, He over delivers!

“…pressed down, shaken together, and overflowing…”

Until Next Time!

Hope.
