Life is a journey – highs and lows, twists and turns, red lights and green lights.
And yet our journey is all set out for us. Our GPS is all programmed. Yes, we may get rerouted or hit dead ends (or, let’s face it, construction!), but ultimately as children of God, He has already planned our lives to the minutest detail.
Isn’t that an exciting thought?! We are created with a specific purpose and nothing can separate us from it. Though we may fear failure, messing up, choosing the wrong path, we aren’t that powerful. God guides and directs us, if we will look to Him.
Unknowns
We all face unknowns, and well, we don’t know what to expect do we? But in the long run, do we ever really know what to expect? We know what we think will happen, and if we are comfortable with this, then most likely it is based on fact or experience. But truly any number of things can go any number of ways. We never really know.
But there is one thing in life that we do know and that is that God is in complete control. He’s never surprised, He’s right there in the unknowns, and He knows. He knows the details, His plans, and He’s got everything in control.
Unknowns can be unnerving. They can shake the most courageous of people. But they can also fuel our grit and determination. Sometimes it takes trying times to show you just how strong you are capable of being! And that comes about when you lean in to God’s strength and don’t try to depend on your own.
Red Light, Green Light
Isn’t it funny how life can be like traffic – lights can change and in an instant you can go from full stop to moving, or from making progress to full stop.
Sometimes this can be frustrating but we must remember that it is all direction and if we are pursuing God, it is for our good.
And it is especially good to remember when things seem slow or at a standstill, that this is only for a moment. Green lights are coming and you will be on your way soon! I read a quote along these lines recently that I really liked:
Be patient. The best things happen unexpectedly.
Now isn’t that delightful to consider?! I love that God has plans beyond what we can imagine or expect!
A Beautiful Ride
When we remember Who is in control, we can enjoy the journey so much more! It is said that sometimes the only glimpse that others might have of God is what they see in you. So be sure you represent Him well!
