The Future Is Bright

The Future is Bright blog

With God for you, the future is bright! Staying upbeat and joyful in the midst of all the noise of the day is so important. Scripture encourages and reminds us, with God for us who dare be against us? When we give our best to God, seek to follow Him well, our future is bright.

Learn to Listen

God speaks to us and directs us in this day and time. It’s not always clear or obvious, but if we’ll pause and listen, really seek Him, we will find Him.

A lot of that is on us though. It’s too easy to get caught up in a crazy and hectic life with things going on a mile a minute. It is our responsibility to slow down and listen for His voice and sense His direction.

Listening to and being directed by God come in different ways – at least in my experience. I’ve asked and asked and asked for direction before and received no clear answer for ages. But one day, the answer presented itself and I had the direction I had requested for so long. It was clear and certain – and that to me is priceless.

When I pray, I ask God to help me listen well. I’d so much rather follow His lead then make foolish decisions. I’d almost say that listening involves a lot of waiting and a lot seeking. But when I spell it out like that, it makes sense. And I don’t say this in a bad way, just in a way to explain it how I see it, to hopefully make it a little easier to have grace and patience while we learn to listen.

And in this pause and seeking, learning to listen, may we press on with what is at hand. Life doesn’t screech to a stop just because we don’t have all the information. We must show up to school, work, jobs, and everyday tasks, always paying attention, alert to the answers God will reveal to us.

Take Bold Action

Once we have our answer, we must act on it. Whether it’s the answer we wanted or not, difficult or easy, when God gives us direction it is essential that we have the courage to take action!

Sometimes the silliest things in life can be difficult or intimidating. I remember as a high schooler, going to the post office felt intimidating and like a real act of courage. Walking in, choosing the right postage, paying for it and being confident I had the right address on it so that the person who had paid for it received it in a timely manner. That was a challenge to me.

Of course now I kind of chuckle at myself for that. If a high schooler was hesitant to go to the post office on my behalf now, I’d probably kindly tell them, “you’ll be fine“. It’s not rocket science. We’re not reinventing the wheel. It’s routine, possibly one of the most simple things you will be asked to do. You’ll be fine.

And you know, I remind myself of that exact thing when on this side of work and experience I have to step up and do things I’m not familiar with or that take me out of my comfort zone: you’ll be fine. If God has brought you to it, you can be certain He will bring you through it. No need to worry or fear, take hold of your confidence in God and step up to where He has you! You’ll be fine.

The Future Is Bright

When we keep our focus on God – His provision, His love, His protection, etc – the future is bright!

A neighbor and I talk politics from time to time. They says things will be frightening if we don’t have honest elections, and I definitely agree. And yet God always makes a way for His people. He holds the whole world in His hands! With God for us, who dare be against us?

I was listening to a podcast the other day and it really encouraged me. The woman was saying when you have dreams, promises, glimpses of wonderful things from God, really lean in to them. Have faith that He can bring about the hopes and dreams He gives you. Don’t put a time limit on it, don’t give up because it’s not in your timeline. Be hopeful and expectant. Why? Because worse case, you’ll go down as having too much faith in God, and that’s not really a possibility, so why stifle your faith?!

Those words meant so much to me! With a promise of God directing my steps, bringing my dreams to pass (or replacing them with something even better!), you and I can both be certain that the future is bright!

I pray these words encourage and fuel your day! May you have patience and confidence in the waiting and courage in the tasks before you! God bless you!

Until Next Time!

Hope.
