The Highlight of Your Year
What has been the highlight of your year?
That was the question I stumbled upon while shopping for a gift last week. Wow, I thought! What has been the highlight of my year? And I began pondering 2017.
First thing that popped into my mind was back in April when my sister and parents and I toured the State and National Parks upstate. That was a wonderful time! I loved camping (or should we say glamping?!) in the fifth wheel! Visiting with my father while he grilled meat was enjoyable too! Not to mention hot cocoas with my mother! And the history that we learned, the stories that we heard – they were incredible! That was definitely a highlight!
But then I remembered the beach trip that my mother, sisters, nephews and nieces just made together! We spent a lovely day in gorgeous weather just soaking up the sun and enjoying each other! Best. Beach. Trip. Ever.! I would definitely have to add this trip (and the coffee drink we got on the way!) to the highlights of the year!
And I really must include the opportunity I had earlier this year to have my company in a fashion show! Not to mention, the ability to set up a table with my boutique items in a local shop for the past few weeks! The improvement in my health has been exciting too!
These delightful highlights must also include you all, my wonderful readers! You are certainly one of the many highlights to my year! Thank you for your encouraging words and for being my cheerleaders! It truly means so much to me!
A Really Good Year
I loved reading this seemingly simple question because it brought so many things to mind that I would not have necessarily recalled! It reminded me what a wonderful year it has been – and the year isn’t over yet!
“…it’s just been a really good year!” my sister said when I asked her what the highlight of the year might be for her. I loved hearing her say those last few words – words that we all need to say and hear more often “it’s been a really good year!”. Because, my friend, it has been a really good, even remarkable, year! True there have been trials and difficulties, but God has been with us and helped us every step of the way!
Questions that we ponder, that we think deeply on and that force us to recall good things can be the catalyst to remarkable and inspiring answers! Answers that encourage us and drive us forward, securely and confidently in the path that God designed just for us!
So let me ask you a simple question – what has been the highlight of your year so far? Betcha can’t name just one!
