The Lord Will Provide

The Lord Will Provide blog

The Lord will provide. Aren’t those words so calming and reassuring?! Whenever things get crazy or out of control, it is such a comfort to know that He has the whole world, everything, in His hands!

We have probably all gone through bits of famine, time or resources were tight and we wondered how it would all work out. Even in normal everyday life, events come up, days loom ahead that I’m not sure how we’ll handle them. Yet I am certain God’s got the details! So I just pause and pray and wait to watch and see how He will bring it all together!

What Does He Provide?

How big is your God? What limits does He have in your mind? Did you know He is in charge of everything? He created everything and orchestrates our entire lives!

It never ceases to astound me when people don’t realize the enormity of God. I, myself, have spent my entire life knowing that He is in control of everything, in charge, and our master orchestrator. And yet, I have to watch myself from putting thoughtless limits on Him! Not that I think that I’m capable of limiting Him, just that in my mind I don’t know if such and such scenario is important enough to warrant His attention.

But I’ve come to believe that if it matters to His children, like a good Father, it matters to Him! If we submit, honor Him, know His words and ways. It’s not just a free-for-all, willy-nilly, crazy kind of a “everything matters” thing. But rather when learn to value and make what’s important to Him important to us, then as long as we seek to bring glory to His name, we can be sure somehow, someway He will provide!

When Does He Provide?

From a human perspective, rarely fast enough. And I don’t mean this disrespectfully, just I think we as a people are impatient. We live in an instant society, so we’ve lost sight of the art of waiting well.

But what if we reexamined that question: When does He provide? When we seek Him with our whole heart, we can be sure that in His perfect time, He will provide. In His perfect time. Not a moment earlier or a second late. Time is no master of the Almighty!

As we look for His guidance and provision, what if we learned to trust instead of question? Pause and breathe and take in where we are, rather than strain for what we think we want?

And if it’s any comfort, I’m trying to figure this out right along side you. I work to be patient and at peace, but at the same time work towards goals and dreams. Let’s just learn the art of confidently and peacefully pressing on? No striving, no frustration. Just faith in the knowledge that in His perfect time, the Lord will provide!

How Will He Provide?

Ahh, but how will He provide? In a million possible ways, but probably not in any way you expect! He has a sense of humor and I really think He enjoys surprising us! Look for Him to show up in your everyday life and delight in the million little things that He does for you!

Two key things I think more people need to practice is hope and confidence. We are champions at questioning things, but what if we encouraged ourselves in the Lord and in this way fueled ourselves with hope, confident that – as always – God would deliver and come through!

It’s not our job to try to figure out how God will provide, but rather to recognize the ways that He has provided! I really believe the more we look for Him, the more we recognize little glimpses of His love and care, the more we will actually see Him and grow closer to Him!

The Take Away

We are good at quoting key phrases, such as The Lord Will Provide, but do we really believe it?

Scripture tells us that He cares even about the birds and the flowers, that’s how I know He cares about us. I was sitting pondering why they received special mention in the Bible and I can’t help but think that perhaps it is because they do what they were created to do. They don’t fight their Creator, they just bloom and fly and give us humans pause to marvel in their beauty!

What if we took a lesson from that? Really lean in, word to know God better and follow His lead? Bloom where we are planted, so to speak? I can’t help but think these efforts would help us maintain peace and calm as we anticipate the remarkable provision of the Lord!

Until Next Time!

Hope.
