Just One More Thing

Just One More Thing

“Oh, I’ll do that!” I keep finding myself volunteering for more projects, just one more thing – and they are all great projects, and I want to help, but if I stop and begin to consider what I’ve agreed to do it can seem like a lot. It’s not like I’ve agreed to do everything, by any stretch, I’ve just volunteered or taken on a few projects and I want to make sure that I follow through and complete each one. Well. And in a timely manner. (That’s not too much to ask, is it?!)

Honestly, I like having a lot to do! Second only to finishing things! So obviously, in order to experience the joy and excitement of finishing a project, I must first start it. But sometimes when I’m tired or a bit down, it can seem like a whole pile of things that I haven’t finished. And that can be pretty depressing.

I always thought of those things, the ones that on productive and well-rested days are delightful, as giants. Giants looking to depress and discourage me. Not literally, of course, but you know how when you’re down and tired, things seem WAY bigger than when you’re doing well? Gratefully, God has made me very aware when I’m down that it is temporary and that He will renew my strength and enthusiasm, but for the moment that I’m sad, it’s so hard.

Let me encourage you, just as I encourage myself – always remember that the hard times, the difficult moments, are only temporary. They will pass and all will be well and wonderful again! And soon! All those projects and things you need to accomplish, you’ll get there! Don’t lose heart! Some days you’ll make leaps and bounds forward, and other days it will seem like you’re farther behind than you’ve ever been. I understand, believe me I do! But don’t let yourself get discouraged! It’s called life and there are seasons and cycles to it. To expect everything to always go perfectly and smoothly is unrealistic. Definitely expect and anticipate the best, but don’t let it rob you of your joy when you hit a bump in the road. I promise you’ll get there – all you have to do is keep working toward your goal and stay positive, be joyful!

After all, Happy Ladies are the Prettiest Ladies!

Until Next Time!

Hope.
