Best Ever Brownies

Need a quick and delicious treat? Try out this Best Ever Brownies - a recipe my sister-in-law and I dreamed up late one night!

First off, you have to love the title, right?! Best ever – vs. worst ever, mediocre, or okay-ish!

These brownies truly are sensational! The back story is delightful. Several years back I was staying with my brother and his wife leading up to one of their children being born. Late one night (think 9:30pm) my brother decided brownies sounded delicious. Only problem being that they were about to move and all my sister-in-laws’ recipes books were packed. And when it comes to it, brownies are serious business and not just any recipe will do!

So my sister-in-law and I began to brainstorm the brownie recipe from memory! And what we came up with was delicious!

Best Ever Brownies

  • 2 sticks + 6 tbsp softened, salted butter
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 eggs
  • 3/4 c cocoa
  • 1-1/2 c flour
  • 2 c granulated sugar

Soften butter to almost melted, or to where it can easily be stirred. Add remaining ingredients to butter and mix.

A few tips: don’t pour the eggs onto the butter if it is hot from the microwave. The hot butter will partially cook the eggs giving you an odd consistency. Also, if you use the same measuring cup with your flour/sugar/cocoa, be sure to measure the sugar first, flour second, and cocoa third. This order will keep your measuring cup cleanest from ingredient to ingredient and will use fewer dishes! (if you measure the cocoa first, the cup will leave cocoa in the flour and sugar) And Ghiradelli is the most delicious cocoa – forget Nestle and Hershey’s!

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 7″ x 11″ pan. Bake for 35-38 minutes or until top is no longer shiny and toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean.

Allow to cool, then cut and enjoy the tastiest of treats!

Until Next Time!

Hope.
