Fort Robinson

Fort Robinson

Fort Robinson is a wonderful spot in Nebraska where you can experience a hint of the Old West! My family and I have visited it on multiple occasions and it is definitely a highlight of our trip!

One of the things that I find especially fascinating are the many original structures from years ago that are still in use today! The fort was built during the early days of the Old West and used up until World War II.

Among the many current attractions are rodeos, steak cookouts, stagecoach rides, and trail rides on horseback. It is definitely a delightful spot that you should be sure to visit, should you find yourself in the area!

One night, when we visited more recently, we had the opportunity to walk over to the rodeo. It was a fun time cheering on the riders and enjoying the evening!

Another perk is that the mess hall offers coffee and cinnamon rolls in the early hours of the morning. While everyone else is gone on a trail ride, Daddy and I will often be found walking around the grounds or on our way to sample the cinnamon rolls!

Fort Robinson is a lovely, relaxing place. We often visit it on our way home from Wyoming or South Dakota and I’m always so glad to have it to look forward to, as it is a little bit hard for me to leave the west behind. It’s just so beautiful and wide open!

Have you visited the west? What are some of your favorite places to see?

Until Next Time!

Hope.
