All the Answers

I don’t have all the answers. Not that I pretend to by any stretch, but sometimes I’m reminded of that in new and different ways.

I know where to look for the answers – the Bible. And I know Who has all the answers – God. Yet sometimes I am left unsure of where to turn or what to say.

I’m sure you’ve found yourself here too. What should we do and how are we to handle it?

Patience

Not every question needs an immediate answer and not every thought needs to be spoken. And obviously, you need to determine the nature of the conversation. It’s important to keep casual things casual, while deeper conversations do require more openness.

But still, if you find yourself unsure of how to answer, know that it is okay to ask to think about the topic at hand. Answering well is important and you definitely want to give the best of yourself.

Sometimes I’ll have something on my mind, but I lack the boldness or even the clarity of how to mention the topic. This is definitely an area I am working. But even with my newfound efforts to be courageous and bold, opportunities pass me by. Perhaps this isn’t all me failing to show up though. In Scripture, Proverbs talks about speaking the right words at the right time. These words when shared at the appropriate moment will go so much further and carry so much more weight than those uttered frivolously.

Prayer

Everything comes back to prayer for me, and I love that! God has all the answers, so Who better to talk to? He has an incredible way of working things out and not only that but He works all things for our good. Wouldn’t you want to talk to Him?

The Bible talks about praying without ceasing. What does this mean and how do we implement it? This doesn’t mean spending our days on our knees, heads bowed, unable to get up and do our work. But rather, in the dialogue that plays all day in your head, give your thoughts and your dreams to God. Ask Him what He might do with them, ask for direction and clarity. Thank Him for all with which He has blessed you!

I truly believe God’s ultimate desire is for Him to be the apple of our eye. Our all in all. He wants our heart and our thoughts, He wants us to give Him our best. And what better way to grow a relationship than visiting and intentionally sharing our deepest thoughts?

There’s no right or wrong way to pray. Prayer can be as simple as a fleeting Praise God! or a lengthy appeal for help. Talking to God and letting Him know how important He is to you is vital. Keep your focus on Him and He will present you with all the answers in His perfect time.

The Bible

In addition to prayer, the Bible holds a limitless supply of encouragement and answers. It is the most precious tool that God has given us to navigate this life. Read it, meditate on it, memorize it. It will never let you down and it will bless and direct you!

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:6-7

Remember, when the time is right, God will give you the words and the opportunity. Pray for discernment to know and courage to speak up! He always answers our prayers and He is a good, good Father.

Until Next Time!

Hope.
