Psalm 91 Personalization

Psalm 91 Personalization

Psalm 91 is one of my favorite passages in Scripture. If you aren’t familiar with it you really should read it – it brings such peace and comfort!

I love to read it and personalize it. God’s Word holds so many precious promises, He fulfills our every need!

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

When we live within His guidelines, He directs us and gives us peace!

This I declare about the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust Him.

I can’t have this reminder enough – He is my God, and I trust Him – because I do! Many times I don’t understand, but I know that is a failing on my part, not His. But if I will remember that He alone is my refuge and safety I can rest easy in the knowledge that my trust is in the most firm of foundations!

For He will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.

He rescues us from deadly diseases and traps. Remarkable, isn’t He? Perhaps, unwittingly, we put ourselves in a bad spot, He’s there to rescue and deliver us! And when the world forecasts doom and gloom, He’s gives us His untouchable protection! Let me repeat, remarkable, isn’t He?!

He will cover you with His feathers. He will shelter you with His wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

He covers us and protects us, even when our faith wavers. His promises are true and faithful!

Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday.

The darkness can fuel our fears when we take our focus off God and His promises, can’t it? So it is up to us to constantly renew our minds, to recognize our fears for what they are – distractions, plain and simple. This list is so helpful in identifying what may seem larger than life and reminding ourselves and our fears that God is in fact immeasurably larger!

Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you.

Even when it appears all is lost, there is no reason left to hope, know that God has you in the palm of His hand. He won’t allow these evils to touch you! He hasn’t brought you this far to abandon you now!

Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished.

God has the details and there are always consequences for actions.

If you make the LORD your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home.

Make God your all in all. Cling to His faithful promises, find peace in His Word! No evil will conquer you – that is an incredible promise! Things may look bleak and overwhelming, difficult, even impossible. But as surely as you cling to God, He will deliver and protect you! Don’t borrow trouble!

For He will order His angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone. You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!

There have been times in my life when the only explanation I have for how something works out is God. No efforts of my own could accomplish the incredible things He has done for us! He cares so deeply for us, from the largest of details to the most infinitesimal. Learn to see God in the everyday. Praise Him, give thanks to Him, and look all the more for evidence of Him!

The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love Me. I will protect those who trust in My name. When they call on Me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”

He is here for us always, we need only seek Him and give Him our best! He loves it when we call on Him, He loves to capture our attention! His mercy is unending and incredible, His blessings are without end!

Personalize It

I pray this personalization has encouraged your heart, I know it has encouraged mine! This last week has been hard, but I know God has the details and will work everything out. How can I be so sure? The Bible tells me so!

May God bless your week and encourage your heart in what He has for you to do!

Until Next Time!

Hope.
