This year has been a bit of a blur, hasn’t it? I can’t believe we are already rapidly approaching June! What have been some of your highlights of 2023 so far?
I can’t help but think that one of the best ways to live with gratitude and intention is to not just show up for the day to day, but pause and think about what you really want to do. So often the only thing holding us back in life is ourselves!
Colleton Coffee
One of the top highlights of 2023 has to be opening a coffee shop and book store with my sister. Learning the process, doing the groundwork, sourcing our products, it has been both challenging and gratifying at the same time!
We went from coffee novices to coffee connoisseurs in 90 days (or less!) and have consumed more coffee than I’ve had in the last year! Test tasting is essential!
The response and support from the community has been humbling and so kind! We knew there was a need for a nice, family-friendly spot, but we didn’t realize how much of a need there was!
Our team has been amazing at helping serve our customers, we simply could not do this without them. And we’ve managed to have a lot of laughs too!

Sunday Afternoons
Sunday afternoons have become another highlight of 2023 for me. I enjoy taking a book outside and pausing and soaking up the sun. The fresh air and sunshine help me understand why they call it sunbathing. It is relaxing and delightful.
Some Sundays I go for a drive and walk around parks or the beach. Working indoors six days a week makes me enjoy the outdoors even more!
Growing My Faith
It is said – and I believe it – that trials help us grow our faith. This past year has given me an incredible opportunity to grow stronger. It is interesting to pause and realize that some things that used to be difficult for me really aren’t that big a deal anymore.
I guess that’s part of the strength that we have the opportunity to learn to lean in to. And I definitely give God full credit for that strength. My constant prayer and reminder to self has been, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Without Him, I am nothing.
And yet, through it all, my confidence in God making a way and directing my steps has only grown stronger. It is no exaggeration to say without Him, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I am certain He has incredible things ahead for me! I really think He loves to be needed, and I find that I need Him like never before.

God has amazing things in store for His people. Let us give Him our best and represent Him well! When we lean in to what He has for us and where He directs us, it presents opportunities that we can’t even fathom!
